More Tacos in Greeley

The time is quickly approaching for the grand opening of Luna's Tacos and Tequila. That is the new restaurant opening in downtown Greeley. The restaurant is located at 809 9th St., right next to  the Moxi Theater. It is a casual restaurant that will serve as lunch and late night dinner options. Eli Corliss is part owner of Luna's and the Moxi Theater. He says the restaurant will be a casual authentic  Mexican style restaurant and will be a great addition to the 9th street plaza strip.

"I just thought how great would it be to bring late night tacos to the 9th street plaza."

Progress has steadily been made towards actually opening the restaurant, which has not been given an exact opening date. Signs on the building simply say "Opening Summer 2018". The restaurant has given updates on their Facebook page and revealed on June 4th that the kitchen hood had been delivered. The Facebook page also revealed that it was holding the first day of chef's tryouts on June 2nd.

The format of the restaurant will be similar to that of Wing Shack in Greeley. The Wing Shack owner Brian Seifreid is part owners with Eli Corliss. He and Corliss got on board with the idea some months ago when they both wanted to create a fine dining restaurant that still had the casual environment. Seifreid says he and Corliss both wanted to get involved in the downtown scene because it is a vibrant part of the city of Greeley.

"That's the cool thing about downtown Greeley- it's a really diverse make-up, and I think this will compliment that really well."

Restaurant guests can enjoy their meal in the cool of the summer night. Patio seating will be available for guest that may choose to enjoy their meal outside with the patio facing the parking lot behind the building. The restaurant will have two stories with an indoor bar.

This will be another restaurant option that will offer tacos to Greeley residents. It will rival another poplar taco spot Fuzzy's located on the other side of town down the Highway 34 Bypass.

Hopefully the restaurant will be opening soon to Greeley residents can enjoy the restaurant's take on authentic Mexican cuisine.

  2. Great post, well organized. I am wondering what about Luna's is going to be different and allow them to stand out amongst competition? You can't go wrong with tacos, but there are a lot of places to get tacos in Greeley.
