New and Improved: The Patio Pub and Grill

The Patio Pub and Grill is a hidden treasure of downtown Greeley. If the name does not sound familiar, you may know it by its former name... The Tilted Kilt. That's right, The Patio is a transformed, new, and improved restaurant with the same idea behind the Tilted Kilt. Some of the changes included menu changes and uniform changes of the employees.


About a month ago, the former Titled Kilt restaurant closed down temporarily as the restaurant got a new look and feel. In just a few short days the restaurant reopened and became The Patio. It remains at the same, rather tucked away, location at 610 9th Avenue in Greeley near the Hilton Doubletree. The change came after the restaurant owner had to make a quick decision about re branding the restaurant to make it more "family friendly".

"We just want it to be a place that everyone can enjoy. I know there were some ideas about what the restaurant used to be, but we want to change that and rebrand." 

The Patio is a classic sports bar and grill. There are a number of wide screen television screens, all showing sports programs. It also provides a real backyard feel with outdoor seating and games like cornhole and horseshoe all on two artificial grass patches. During my visit last week I sat in front of a projector screen where I got to watch game 1 of the NBA finals. Even better is that TVs can be changed upon request to the servers.


And speaking of service, I experienced exceptional service during my first visit at the restaurant. The mostly, well all, female serving staff was quick to seat me at a table, kindly changed the channel so I could watch my the NBA finals game, and checked up on me throughout my meal. It seems that the servers really enjoy their jobs. Most of them have regular customers that come into the restaurant because of how great their service is. Great service usually means great tips.

"I've seen girls get hundreds of dollars in tips. Some people are in here all of the time and want the same server every time." 
Now, let's get to the food. What did I get? A burger of course. I got a barbecue bacon and cheddar burger that was very tasty with french fries. While it's no Stuft Burger, it is still a good burger. Another great thing about the restaurant is it's portion size. My friend who accompanied me to my meal got the Chicken Alfredo with a side of bread and, well, there was a lot of food and required a to-go box. For drinks, I recommend the raspberry lemonade. It is the perfect summer cool drink.

All in all, I would recommend The Patio to any UNC student, especially on Tuesday. Tuesdays are great days for burger lovers like me because it is buy one, get one free from 7 pm to 10 pm. So grab a friend or two, put on your favorite sports jersey and enjoy dinner at The Patio.

For Breakfast: Eggs, Waffles, and Mimosas

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Last week I had the pleasure of going out to eat with some friends and the restaurant we chose to eat at was Butter's . I had never heard of the restaurant before until a few weeks ago when someone mentioned that they had really good mimosas. Having never tried a mimosa before, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to try a mimosa and to try a new restaurant. Butter's restaurant is rather far in terms of proximity to the University of Northern Colorado  campus standards. It is on 35th avenue, in the same shopping center of King Sooper's and Inta Juice. The restaurant opens from 7 AM to 2 PM daily and the menu offers not just breakfast, but also offers lunch options too. Restaurant Review: Stuft Burger Bar Stuft Burger Bar is a unique restaurant experience with gourmet burgers, mouth watering milkshakes, and award winning french fries.  Stuft opened in its downtown Greeley location in 2014 . This is one of three locations in Northern Colorado with the other two locations in Windsor and Fort Collins. It has the perfect location on 9th Street among other restaurants that span the downtown area including The Rio and the future sight of Luna's Taco's and Tequila.
